Trike-A -Thon

Trike-A-Thon prizes are in and can be picked up at the school office between 8am and 3pm. Thank you for your participation.

Field Day

Monday will be Field Day for CCS students. They are to come to the upper pavillion at Cumberland Mountain State Park and can be picked up at 2:30. Be sure to remember outdoor play equipment. This is for grades K-8. Pre-K will have their water day at the school.

Children's Musical

We have an opportunity to attend the Children's Musical at Central Baptist Church on Monday, April 30. I know this is short notice , but I just found out that the church transportation crew will transport us to the church and the parents will pick them up at the church after school. We will have permission slips for you to sign as you drop off your child in the morning. If you have questions, please call the school at 484-0026.

3 K Class

After meeting with a board member at the school today, we have been instructed to let everyone know that we will be having a 3 K class for next year. For more information, please contact the school at 484-0025.

Iowa Scores

The results of the Iowa test have arrived and the students did a wonderful job. All of the scores were in the high-average to high range. Of all the students taking the test nationwide, both public and private schools, CCS ranked very high. The scores were :

Enrollment, Celebrating Strengths

Now is the time to take advantage of early enrollment at CCS. Early enrollment lasts until April 15 and the fee is $75. After April 15, enrollment fee is $100. Tuition fees this year are $3250 for the first child and $3200 for each additional child. This year, we will be offering Spanish in addition to Latin;and we will be adding an organized P.E. program for each grade. We plan to also continue the Science Fair.

Remember that April 5 will be the next P.T.F. meeting. This promises to be a very busy evening. In addition to the regular P.T.F. meeting and elections, there will also be our Celebrating Strengths night. We will be celebrating the strengths of each child- not just his school work , but all that he is involved in after shool and during the summer. A letter will be going home the week of March 26. We will also have God's World Book Fair this night. More information about this will be coming home the week of March 26.

Report cards for the third nine weeks will be sent home March 26. We only have one more nine weeks of school.

Busy week!

The Iowa tests are over and the children have done a wonderful job of cooperating and staying healthy all week. "Thank you" to the PTF for furnishing breakfast each morning and to Sharon Smith for cooking and to Helen Vanoostven for serving . All the proctors deserve a special "thank you" for giving up their time to help give the tests.

The science fair will be held on Tuesday. We have several students who will be involved in that. Wednesday will be our special chapel with Mr. Pape. He will be singing the entire time. If any of the parents or board members would like to come, you are certainly welcome to do so. It will be from 8:00-9:00.

School will be dismissed at 11:00 on Friday for our spring break.

Celebrating Strengths will be held during the April PTF meeting as will the Book Fair. Pamphlets showing the books that will be available that night will be coming home soon. Be making preparations and mark your calendars!

OOPS

I am sorry I made a mistake with the dates of spring break. The dates are out at 11:00 am on the 16th and out the 19th - 23rd. I hope this did not inconvenience anyone. Thank you.

Iowa tests

The Iowa tests will be given Tuesday- Thursday of this week. Please help your child to do his or her best by insuring that they get a good night's rest. The PTF will be serving breakfast at the First Presbyterian Church for those who are taking the tests(K-8). They can be dropped off at the church and a teacher will walk them across to the school.

The auction is over, and what a success it was! Thanks to all of those who participated.

Spring break is scheduled for March 12-16. School will be dismissed on March 16 at 11:00.

Dream Big!

Don't forget the Dream Big auction and dinner tonight at 6:00. This is our major fund raisser of the year, so don't forget to come out and enjoy the evening with us.

Upcoming Events

The Science department at CCS is sponsoring its first Science Fair this Thursday, February 22. All the schools in the county have been invited to participate.

The time is drawing nearer for the Dream Big auction and fund raiser. We still need items for the auction. You may bring them to the front office of the school. Tickets may be purchased at the front office also. They are $25 each. Help support your school and at the same time , spend a very enjoyable evening.

An event that we are participating in for the second year is Relay for Life. If you haven't already committed to walking with another team, we would welcome your participation with us. An activity that we're partipating in schoolwide is a "Kiss the Pig Contest." Each teacher has a can that donations can be placed in. The teacher with the most money "gets" to kiss a real , live pig. Don't knock your favorite teacher out of that opportunity of a lifetime.

Delayed Opening

Due to weather conditions, CCS will open at 9:00 am on Friday, February 16.

There will be no school on Monday, February 19, because of President's Day.

2007-2008 School Year

We are in the full swing of making plans for the next school year.The tuition prices have been discussed, but it's really difficult to set a budget " in stone" until we know how many students we will have. We do, however, have the book fees calculated. They could possibly be lower if we can find a place to purchase used books of the same edition that we're using. They are:

K4 and K5-$125
Grades 1 and 2-$200
Grades 3-6-$250
Grades 7 and 8-$275

These fees are very representative of the price of each book that will need to be ordered for each grade level.

We're very excited about the upcoming year and all the wonderful things that are going to happen at CCS. God is truly blessing us!
